religious building · Toledo The Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes is a Franciscan monastery founded by the Catholic Monarchs to mark the Battle of Toro of 1476 and built from 1477 to 1504 to plans by Juan Guas. Its Isabelline Gothic church and two-storey cloister are open to visitors, and chains of freed Christian captives hang on its walls.

The Church of Santo Tomé is a parish church in Toledo's old town, rebuilt in the early 14th century by Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, Lord of Orgaz, who turned the minaret of an earlier mosque into its Mudéjar bell tower. A chapel at the back holds El Greco's The Burial of the Count of Orgaz (1586–1588), painted for his tomb.

The El Greco Museum is a national museum in Toledo's Jewish quarter, opened in 1911 by the Marquis of Vega-Inclán in a house and garden rebuilt on 16th-century foundations, though not the painter's own home. It shows works by El Greco and his workshop, including the View and Plan of Toledo and an Apostolado series of Christ and the apostles.

The Synagogue of El Tránsito was built in the Mudéjar style in 1357 for Samuel ha-Levi, treasurer to King Peter of Castile. Its prayer hall keeps carved stucco friezes with Hebrew inscriptions, a wooden coffered ceiling and a women's gallery, and since 1964 the building has housed the Sephardic Museum, a national museum of Jewish heritage in Spain.

The Museum of Santa Cruz occupies the Hospital de Santa Cruz, founded by Cardinal Pedro González de Mendoza and built in the early 16th century on a Greek-cross plan, with a Plateresque portal and a cloister staircase by Alonso de Covarrubias. Its collections cover archaeology, fine art and decorative arts from the province of Toledo.

Toledo Cathedral, the Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary, is a Gothic church begun in 1226 on the site of the city's main mosque; the vaults of its central nave were closed in 1493. Inside are the Baroque Transparente altarpiece by Narciso Tomé, a carved choir and a sacristy hung with paintings by El Greco, including El Expolio.

The Alcázar of Toledo is a square stone fortress with four corner towers on the highest point of the city, rebuilt for Charles V from the 1540s. Largely destroyed in the 1936 siege and reconstructed between 1939 and 1957, it has housed Spain's Army Museum since 2010, covering the history of the Spanish army.

The Puente de Alcántara is a Roman arch bridge over the Tagus at the eastern entrance to Toledo, below the Castle of San Servando. Rebuilt in the 10th and 13th centuries, it has two arches, a medieval gate tower at its western end with the arms of the Catholic Monarchs, and a Baroque triumphal arch of 1721 at its eastern end.

Puy du Fou España is a historical theme park on the outskirts of Toledo, run by the French Puy du Fou group. Its night show, El Sueño de Toledo, began in August 2019 and the day park opened in March 2021, with shows and rebuilt villages, castles and streets that stage episodes from the history of Spain.
